Shareable links

Leganto allows you to create shareable links which you use in your Canvas site and link directly to a resource from the Reading list.

There are conditions to be considered before using shareable links:

  • Shareable links can only be added and edited by lecturers in Canvas, library staff cannot do this for you.
  • Shareable links can only be rolled over when the teaching period has ended, and the course is not active.
  • Shareable links can only be rolled over once per teaching period. Shareable links will point to the last rolled over list.
  • If a national Canvas unit is being divided into multiple campus-based Canvas sites only one site can have the rolled over reading list and shareable links. The other Canvas sites will need to recreate the shareable links.
Only one of the Canvas sites can rollover the reading list and have the shareable links move to the new Canvas site and reading list. The lecturers for the other Canvas sites will have to recreate the shareable links once the 2024 unit has ended and the reading list has been rolled over.

Create a shareable link

You can create a shareable link to a reading list citation or a section.

  1. From the reading list, open the top ellipsis menu for either the section or citation and click on ‘Create a shareable link’.

  2. A dialog box will open with the Shareable link code for use in Canvas. Click COPY TO CLIPBOARD.
