Notes

  • Facebook posts don't always have a title. If this is the case, use the first few words of the post
  • Facebook is in italics
  • All words in the title and subtitle are capitalised, except articles and prepositions
  • Abbreviate month names greater than four letters: Jan., Feb., Mar.,  Apr., Aug., Sept., Oct., Nov., Dec.
  • Facebook posts don't traditionally have paragraphs, pages, or section headings so no extra information is required in the citation
  • When including a URL remove http:// or https://
  • The Works Cited list must be double-spaced, be formatted to have a hanging indent, and have a centred heading
  • For multiple authors check the author layout table for in-text and Works Cited list format
