  • End last author's name with a full stop  e.g., A. A. Author and B. B. Author.
  • If a website has no formal title, provide a descriptive title of the site's content.
  • If no individual author is identified, start the reference with the page title enclosed in double quotation marks.
  • Capitalize only the first word of the page title and subtitle.
  • Do not place a full stop at the end of a URL.
  • The citation numbers are static. The same number should be used for the same source each time it is cited.
  • For multiple authors, check the author layout table for in-text and Reference List format.

  • If full dates are not available, provide as much information as is available.
  • For a conference presentation add a full stop at the end of the last author's name e.g., A. A. Author.
  • Refer to the IEEE Reference Guide (see p. 5) for abbreviations for conference titles.
  • If there is no abbreviation write out the remaining words of the title but omit most prepositions and articles e.g., on, of.
  • Add a full stop at the end of a doi but not after a URL.
  • For references that end with a URL include [Online].
  • For multiple authors check the author layout table for in-text and reference list format.
