Artificial Intelligence (AI)

You should seek clarification from the Lecturer-in-Charge (LIC) of your unit to see if it is permissible to use AI in your assessments. Examples of AI include ChatGPT and Bing Chat.

When prompted with "Name one advantage of using solar heating?" ChatGPT responded that it "reduces the consumption of fossil fuels" (OpenAI, 2023).

The author prompted ChatGPT on "How can AI improve emergency response times?" and the response was "by making the process more efficient and effective." (OpenAI, 2023; see Appendix A for the full transcript).

Notes

  • Include within the text the prompt that was used to create the specific response and add the relevant text of the response.
  • You can consider adding the full transcript of a longer response into an appendix or supplementary material.
  • Only include the year for the date not the specific day as this information is in the version number.
  • The version number of ChatGPT is available below the search box.
  • If any primary sources are made available always check they are real and accurate.
