What are QR Codes?

QR = Quick Response

QR Codes are barcodes that can be read by mobile devices (iPhones, Windows, Droids etc) to provide people with information.

All you need is a mobile device with a camera and Internet access.

They are free to access. Here is an example of a QR Code:

Once you have scanned a QR Code, your mobile device may bookmark the URL, make a call, send SMS etc

Create Your Own QR Code!

You can create your own QR Code. It is free and easy to do!

You can create QR Codes for URLs, SMS, phone numbers etc.

All you need is a QR Code Generator. There are many to choose from on the Internet.

The ACU Library uses Kaywa.

Also try QRVoice - this generator enables you to create a QR Code and once scanned, reproduces the message with a synthesized voice.
